RoboSim5G
An open-source project to enable seamless integration of simulated 5G base stations (gNB) and 5G devices (UE) into the open-source 3D robotic simulation platform Gazebo.
RoboSim5G
Förderjahr 2024 / Projekt Call #19 / ProjectID: 7394
For the first time, 5G features and procedures such as 5G positioning, Quality of Service, and Network APIs can be directly incorporated into the development of robots within the simulation. This allows robotics application developers to easily and efficiently leverage the full potential of 5G technology.
Integration into Gazebo
- Published directly as a Gazebo plugin
- Easy integration with open-source 5G Core Networks
- Plug&Play integration with Virtual 5G Lab of phine.tech.
Realistic 5G Simulation
- Authentic behavior of a 5G network
- Localization comparable to physical 5G campus networks
- Simulation results are transferable 1:1 to real 5G networks
Seamless 5G Core Integration
RoboSim5G base stations and 5G devices need to be connected to a 5G Core Network. Instruction for how this can be achieved with popular open-source 5G Core Networks is provided in the RoboSim5G documentation.
The following open-source 5G Core Networks are supported:
